Short Getaway to Tioman

Qipei and I needed a short getaway from Singapore and so we booked a 3D2N Tioman package for travel on 4th - 6th June 2010.

A panoramic view of Tioman Island from Paya Village Jetty.

On the way to Tioman!

Tanjung Gemok Ferry Terminal Waiting Area.

Our boarding passes!

Look at how crystal clear the water is.
Can you count the number of fishes in it?

"We'd reached Tioman!!!"

"Welcome to Paya Beach Resort"

Our Superior (Sea Facing) Chalet 602

Pantai Paya Restaurant ,海边中式海鲜饭店

The price of duty-free alcoholic drinks is unbeatable!

We explored the village through our canons and fisheye!

Blue sky, fresh air, clean beach and cool water.

Snorkeling is definitely one of the must-do in Tioman!

Our snorkel excursion.

I love Tioman!!!
....................................................................................................................................

We paid S$520 for the package which included two-way trip (coach + ferry), adult twin Superior Chalet (Sea Facing) at Paya Beach Resort, a snorkeling excursion to Renggis Island and Marine Park (excluding snorkeling equipment), and all meals (2 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 2 buffet dinner). Our snorkeling adventure was extended to 3 more locations by paying additional RM50/pax. Snorkeling gears can be rented over the counter at about RM8.

Note
(i) All visitors are required to pay a Marine Parks Conservation Charge of RM5 at the Jetty. Keep it with you when you go on excursion as there might be random checks.

(ii) Ferry timings can get quite screwed up, especially on return trip as the ferry will drop and pick up passengers at the 8 villages on the island before heading back to the Jetty.

(iii) Avoid going to Tioman during the June School Holidays. Else be prepared for the crowd from Malaysia and Singapore, and also the extra holiday charges.
